New Bear Trap Foot Pegs…

News 1 Comment »

e have just gotten our first batch of bear trap foot pegs in, and have begun filling back orders for extremely patient customers. We have begun casting the center pegs, instead of milling them, for a more interesting and organic shape. This has not been an easy process, but we feel it was worth it. The reason we wanted to cast these was becuase we wanted (1.) add some detail to the part, (2) hopefully reduce cost and (3) blow out those cheap knock off versions being sold all over.  You know the ones, by that lame chopper company on the west coast.  They even had the balls to patent the “BMX foot peg” concept.  How lame is that?  So, including the use of Brembo brakes on choppers, that would be the second thing they’ve copied us on… oh well, what is it they say about imitation?

Easyriders Give-Away Bike Sneak Peek

News 2 Comments »

Hey guys, here’s a sneak peak at our 2008 Easyriders Give-Away bike. We based this build on our new production model, the Intercept, but we wanted the paint to reflect some of the vintage motorcycle heritage we associate with the Easyriders name. Jeff and Heather Shea did this killer paint work. You may know Jeff from his incredible tattoo work at HoleShot Tatoos in Berkley, MI.
The bike is running a 80″ Harley Davidson Evo motor with a Crane single fire Hi-4 ignition and coil, and a 41mm Mikuni Carb. The drivetrain consists of a Baker 5 speed, and a BDL 3″ open primary.

Due to popular demand, we have finally begun manufacturing our BigFoot forward controls, which are based on the prototypes used on our Discovery Channel Great Biker Build Off bike, “Number 10.”  The BigFoot is available in a wide variety of setups including dual hydraulic, cable clutch, traditional, and dual remote.  They are not yet offered in the store, but feel free to send an email to dave@detroitbros.com if you are interested in purchasing a set.  img_1048.JPG
